"Basic Forum functions"

As some of our members are new to this Forum stuff, I have listed some useful functions for them to learn or revert back to.
If anybody has any others please feel free to add them.

Terminology used on this forum
The Board - This is the list of different Forums. (This list is displayed when you press the “Board Index” button)
Forums - This is the list of different topic area’s that are contained within the board.
Threads - These are the different topics within each forum. (These topics are displayed when you click on a particular Forum)
Posts - This is the information or attachments added to each Thread from all the different members.

Useful buttons and what they do
"Board Index" - This button returns you to the list of Forums available.
"View New Posts" - This button will give you a list of posts in different threads that are new since you last logged in.
“User Control Panel” – This is the area which you can change your personal settings e.g. passwords, signature, etc.
“Members” – This will display all members and their personal information e.g. Mobile No’s, Age, location, etc.

How to view, add, edit & submit a post
“New topic” – Used to start a new Thread on a different subject in one of the Forums.
“Post Reply” – Used to add your comments or an attachment to a Thread.
“Quote Button” – Use this button to add someone else’s comments to your post if you’re replying to their comments.
“Preview Button” - This button allows you to view your post before you submit it.
“Submit Button” - This button submits your post to the thread you are currently in.
“Edit Button” – This button allows you to edit any of your posts that you have previously submitted to a thread.


To add an attachment or photo to a post
Once you have clicked the “Post Reply” button, scroll to the bottom of the page to the add attachment boxes.
Next to the word “Filename” click the “Browse” button. (The photo or attachment must be saved on your PC or Laptop to be able to upload it)
Double click on your chosen attachment – The name of the attachment will then be displayed in the “Filename” box. Click the “Add the File” button to upload your attachment to the Forum.
Once the forum has uploaded your attachment it will then be displayed in the attachment box just below the area where you add text to your post (Big white area).
Click the “Place Inline” button to add your attachment to your post. (Text can be added above or below your attachment)
Press the “Preview” button below the white text area to view your post before you press the “Submit” button. This allows you to check to see that everything is correct before submitting it to the Forum.
